Facial Cosmetic Surgery
Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
One would think that surgery in an area as small as the eyelid region is an uncommon procedure, but the truth is that about 100,000 eyelid surgeries, or blepharoplasties, are conducted every year in the United States alone. Just as the eyes are the windows to the soul and one of the most prominent features of a person’s face, the eyelids immediately draw attention to themselves from their mere placement, and as such, are often the target of aesthetic enhancement. What makeup cannot fix, it is hoped that surgery can correct.
Rhinoplasty
People who decide to undergo nose enhancement or corrective surgery, for which the collective term is rhinoplasty, do so for a variety of reasons. In many cases the change is for aesthetic purposes, to whittle down a nose that is too prominent or hooked, or to give additional definition and sharpness to a nose that is flat or bulbous. Sometimes, people will fracture or injure their noses in some way, or suffer from a genetic defect that inhibited the proper formation of the nose. In either case, breathing may be impaired unless corrective surgery is performed.
Chin Implants
It is said that a prominent chin contributes to a stronger, more attractive profile. This is why celebrities, models and other individuals renowned for their beauty are reputed to sport this feature. Fortunately, those of us who did not win the genetic lottery can turn to cosmetic surgery to enhance this area of our face in which we may be deficient. The rewards of this procedure are increased confidence, a more impressive visage, and a presence that will generate more positive attention.
Thread Lift
Some people dive headlong into the controversial risk-versus-reward ocean of cosmetic surgery, fearless against whatever perils lie beneath in the quest to improve one’s appearance. Others, many others, are much more conservative, preferring instead to test the waters and see if minimally invasive or non-surgical options would be more suitable to their needs. In the case of facial rejuvenation, if a facelift is the surgical equivalent of deep-sea exploration, a less intensive procedure, known as a thread lift, would be a shallow snorkel with a life preserver.
Septoplasty
Some people get nose jobs as a matter of preference, seeking to improve the shape and position of their noses to an aesthetic ideal. For other individuals, however, a nose surgery is a necessity for better health. These persons suffer constantly from breathing problems, which lead to snoring and sleep apnea, a chronic condition that deprives one of getting restful sleep. Another malady that they must endure is persistent sinusitis, causing inflammation and irritation of the nasal passages.
Lower Face Lift
When one speaks of a face lift, the first image that registers in a person’s brain is that of detaching the skin from the face, stretching it upwards and backwards, and then suturing everything back into place. While this may have been the case traditionally, cosmetic surgeons are now redefining the concept of the face lift.
Mid Face Lift
Though the traditional face lift is considered to be one of the more conventional cosmetic surgery procedures and is performed in significant quantities every year, this technique is slowly being phased out, or redefined, depending on your point of view. A common complaint about face lifts is that they tend to produce unnatural, even hideous results, as the tightly stretched skin gives the patient a perpetually wind-swept look.
Cheek Implants
No matter how gifted, wealthy or powerful a person is, he or she is only human, and there is always the chance that he or she will suffer from some physical insecurity or dissatisfaction. Society has placed stringent demands on its ideals of beauty, which is quite prominently reflected in the face. One of the focal points of the facial area is the cheeks, where high, well-defined cheekbones are considered attractive, and the lack thereof tends to ruin an otherwise magnificent profile.
Juvederm
Many individuals find themselves saddled with emotional depression as their age seemingly makes itself visible overnight. Although one may say that many good things come with age such as wisdom, experience, a deeper religious understanding, and more love from a bigger family, there are also difficulties that present themselves as blows to one’s self esteem. Physical aging can be very cumbersome for a person.
Botox Treatments
People have been chasing after the proverbial fountain of youth for ages, seeking to reverse the flow of time, at least insofar as their appearances are concerned. Seeing one’s self age gradually, watching skin sag and lines form, is a miserable process. Anyone would love to get his or her hands on almost anything that would diminish the effects of added years. Cosmetic surgery has thus advanced at a significant pace, inventing and developing a myriad of techniques and methods that can restore a person’s youth.
